Imaginary Rock Band CD

Amazing! Radical! Free!

So I'm surfin' the interbutts today and it appears that all the kids are talking about the new album by The Nine Inch Nails. Apparently, Trent Reznor is releasing it under a Creative Commons license that allows the artist to choose a certain flexibility of copyright, a flexibility that makes sharing of the album legal. This kind of thing is turning the RIAA and the music industry upside down, shaking all the change out of its pockets, which then is put into the hands of the artists, who really deserve it.

But about the album. It's called "Ghosts", is in four parts, and is entirely instrumental. That's right. We can now listen to Trent Reznor's compositional and production skills without having to put up with his angsty lyrics. An instrumental NIN album is something I've always dreamed of. I highly suggest you check it out if you're into Nine Inch Nails, and INSIST you listen if you're not. This is almost a 180-degree turn stylistically. Imagine some sort of bizarre cross between Philip Glass, Brian Eno, and Aphex Twin. Download it with the link below, I'd link to the official site but they've been having server trouble.

I tend to like the creepy stuff. That's what I get for watching David Lynch films and listening to Marilyn Manson all day.
